Wale decides to treat his fans today with the official artwork to his upcoming album The Gifted, which will hit stores on June 25. Wale has a lot of strong momentum leading up to this album, as his single “Bad” has been tearing up the charts and radio since it dropped. Expect him to keep the heat coming with these releases in the coming week as well.
This cover, though.
UPDATE: The iTunes pre-order link is here and the tracklist has been revealed minus the features. Check it out after the jump
Album: The Gifted
Label: Maybach Music / Atlantic Records
With “Bad” currently taking over and holding it’s own on urban radio, Wale dropped the second single to his upcoming album The Gifted this morning. Folarin’s storytelling takes control regarding a topic we all can relate to, and with a Marvin Gaye sample you can feel the pain in the instrumental.
The Gifted drops June 25th.
It has been a little while since we have heard some new tunes from Lil Reese, but don’t fret because today we get the untagged version of “No Lackin’/Money Stackin’.” This originally popped up on Funk Flex’s recent mixtape and features verses from Waka Flocka & Wale. In fact Flocka absolutely murked this track, and with the right push this cut could do some serious damage.
It’s also interesting that the song was released on CTE’s official soundcloud. Does this mean Young Jeezy replaced Freddie Gibbs with Lil Reese?
Produced by Young Chop.

French Montana is gearing up to drop his debut album Excuse My French on May 21, and today drops the official remix to his latest single “Freaks.” For this French adds some new verses from Wale, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled & Mavado, plus keeping Nicki Minaj’s verse from the original. We are actually not mad at this remix at all, and are looking forward to French’s debut album next month.

OS REWIND: Wale Performs “Bad” On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon
After releasing the video for “Quintana” at the weekend, Travi$ Scott had created quite a storm with it being his first ever visual. Keeping to his word, the G.O.O.D. Music affiliate drops off a different version of the track featuring no other than Maybach Music Group’s Wale. There’s no doubt that Scott is trying to prove a point by bringing him onto the offering as a special guest, with his forthcoming project Owl Pharaoh still up in the air in terms of an official release date.
With the release of the long-awaited visuals for his new ladies-anthem “Bad” with Tiara Thomas, Wale stopped by Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for the new singles first television performance. The set starts off with Tiara Thomas delivering a solo on the guitar as long with the Roots, Wale jumps into the song and gets the tone set for the crowd on hand to vibe out with.
As the singles gaining notoriety by the week, Wale is using the momentum from Bad to generate a buzz for his upcoming third studio album “Gifted,” which we can look for its release on June 25th via Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records.
It was the invasion of R&B this week, as almost half our our Top 10 belongs to the genre. More interestingly, it’s spawned a little competition from two of them, making the Internet pit Justin Timberlake against Robin Thicke for best visual.
The rest of our videos remain to some rap heavyweights, with 2 Chainz getting two looks, much like director Topshelf Junior (for videos from different genres too).
Unfortunately, this means Alternative videos got snubbed.

OS REWIND: Top 10 Videos Of The Week (March 18, 2013)
Days after announcing his upcoming album The Gifted, Wale took some time out and showed love to The Breakfast Club before he kicks off his second quarter of 2013. Up top they discuss the altercation he had with a fan after the Raptors/Wizards in February, some of the recent projects he’s been working on that we hope to see soon, the recent video of him roaming the N.Y. streets looking a bit out of character, and the crew even try to bait him with MTV’s Hottest MC list but Folarin knew better than to fall for that one.
Check out the whole interview up top and be on the lookout for The Gifted to drop June 25th.
Once again, it’s a new year and one of the most controversial debates in hip-hop is back again with MTV’s “Hottest MC’s In The Game” listings. There’s obviously going to be those certain fans that misread the title when it clearly says “Hottest MC’s” right now, not who you or we think are the best rappers out. What gets a emcee on the list is the combination of Lyrics, Style, Sales, Impact, Buzz and Intangibles. Don’t get mad when your favorite rapper isn’t on the list as you can check after the jump as MTV starts the yearly festivities.
MTV continues to roll out their list, which is becoming more and more controversial by the day. Check out the updated list below and let us know your thoughts. We are surprised to see that Future and Kanye West have charted so early on the list but we can’t wait to see how the top 5 looks.
10. Meek Mill
8. A$AP Rocky
7. Kanye West
6. Big Sean
3. Rick Ross
2. 2 Chainz
1. Kendrick Lamar
Two years ago, Gucci Mane released the first installment in his “Free Bricks” series with fellow Georgia rapper Future helping launch his career from the streets to becoming a household name. If you all loved Free Bricks, Gucci returns with “Free Bricks 2” feature the next up and coming rapper to take over the game with Young Scooter. From the official video of “Columbia,” new Remix released with La’Flare, Rick Ross & Birdman as well as their collaborative official video for “Free Bricks,” both Gucci and Scooter have been on a tear the entire year in a sense of Gucci having a reassurance in his career and Scooter becoming one of the most talked about “new” rappers in the game. For their project we get features from Wale, Waka Flocka, Young Dolph, Big Bank Black as you can check after the jump to view the complete 16-track tracklistings along with a download link ready.
If there’s any rapper who’s having a breakout year so far, it’s by far Lil Mexico’s own Young Scooter. From the highly-popular single “Columbia” which has been tearing up shit in a major way across them skreets and even the Remix featuring Rick Ross, Gucci Mane & Birdman; the buzz for Scooter is at an all-time high right now in his career thus far.
Here we get his latest with “Pass Around” which serves as the next leak from his upcoming album “Juug House” which we can expect see on July 2nd. The track is pretty self-explanatory from passing around bitches, drank, molly and most importantly blunts. Before we get the album, you can look out for his collaborative mixtape with fellow 1017 Brick Squad representer Gucci Mane, as they plan to release “Free Bricks 2” this Friday.

Die hard sneakerhead, DMV’s own, Wale sat down with Adidas Originals to discuss the current state of the sneaker culture and what it means to him. Folarin speaks on his love for kicks and why he got into the game, giving us a quick background story of his less fortunate childhood, not having it all but still able hit the schoolyard in some fresh kicks. Wale also tells us what makes him original, while rocking the new Adidas TS Lite AMR “Trophy Hunter LTD, available today at the Adidas Original online shop.

If you’ve been listening to Wale’s Folarin mixtape with DJ Clark Kent since releasing over the holidays, it’s kind of hard to not have heard “Bad” with Tiara Thomas. Since the mixtapes release, “Bad” has been a underground ladies anthem as Wale has decided to push the track as an official single. We thought it was only right to give the track some spotlight attention as it’s been in heavy rotation behind the scenes here. While his 3rd studio album is currently in the works, we can look out for visuals for Bad releasing relatively soon.
