In only two months, The-Dream has prepared his fifth studio album, IV Play with not only good marketing, but also good singles and visuals highlighted by “Slow It Down” and “IV Play.” The album’s been in the works for nearly 2 years, as he had name changes from Love Affair and Love IV to deliver this final product in two weeks via Def Jam.
The album has production from Dream himself, Christopher Stewart, Carlos McKinney; with features from Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Pusha T and Gark Clark Jr. Before the album hits stores on May 28th, he’s gearing up for a special “Lights Out” tour with Kelly Rowland starting May 23rd with dates lasting until June 28th. Just yesterday we were provided with precise information on the release date for The-Dream’s highly anticipated new single, which also included the actual artwork for good measure. The acclaimed singer/songwriter keeps to his word by capitalizing on his previous singles with a track titled “High Art,” guided massively by a signature contribution from Jay-Z himself. Be sure to look out for Terius’ fifth album IV Play when it hits stores and iTunes on May 28th via Def Jam Recordings.
August Alsina is part of the new wave of young dope R&B artists on the scene, and today the Def Jam signee releases his highly anticipated mixtape The Product 2. For the tape August calls on Juelz Santana, Curren$y, The-Dream, Roscoe Dash and more for features. The production is also solid throughout the entire tape.

The weekend is here, bitches! And you know what means? We’re going to be knee deep in some alcohol, awaiting good times (and hungover mornings). While we get ready for the Saturday and Sunday ratchetness, the soundtrack to our weekend will be crucial. This week was especially crazy, because we got big songs from Rap’s elite.
It never hurts to get a new song for Jay-Z, either. So that will continue in our rotation for days/weeks to come, as we set off today’s Weekend Playlist with that. We didn’t add too much R&B (and definitely no alternative) in this edition, so expect more rap than usual. Compton, Detroit, Brooklyn, North Carolina, and Los Angeles all represented.
Check out what our OnSMASH staff will be bumping this weekend, after the jump.
We saw last week’s visuals for The-Dream’s single “Slow It Down” with Loso, but he isn’t slowing up with the records leading up to his album “IV Play,” now releasing the title track from the project. From the songs title, you would think that he’s talking about the moment leading up to love making with your significant other, but The-Dream’s getting straight to the point for the ladies, being as blunt as ever. We know this song and his album should be another late night collection to add to the playlist whenever you’re in the mood, so enjoy this appetizer until the main course is served next month.
The-Dream continues on his promo run for his upcoming album IV Play by dropping by The Breakfast Club this morning to chop it up with DJ Envy, Charlamagne and Angela Yee. The interview started off with some playful jabs between Charlamagne and Dream and then they got into business talking about the new album. Yesterday on 106 & Park Dream also revealed that the album will feature Jay-Z, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. We can’t even lie that that news gets us pretty hyped. Check out the full interview above.

Well how’s this for a mashup. The Dream teams up with Mick Boogie for 50 minutes of some of your favorite records with Mr. Terius Nash to thank for them. No need to skip tracks or fast forward anything, just hit play and prepare yourself to start moving at one point. With May approaching quickly, everything seems to be falling in place nicely for the release of IV Play that month. Enjoy.
Terius Nash decides to take a slowed down approach to his latest track with the release of “Tron.” Taking no time off from the recent release of his forth studio album “1977,” The-Dream is already gearing up for his next full-length album which is now titled “IV Play” which is set to drop on May 7th.
Def Jam crooner Terius Nash has been hard at work over the course of the year, enhancing his singing, songwriting, producing and acting abilities. It’s well known that The-Dream has been busy collaborating with Beyoncé for her upcoming release, as well as playing a vital role in Rihanna’s first number one album Unapologetic. Besides helping other important acts, he has also been putting out his very own content. From connecting with G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T on “Dope Bitch“, to re-releasing his 1977 project in physical form, due out just before Christmas on December 18th.
Even though his fourth studio album has not yet been released, The-Dream has recently spoke on his upcoming fifth album titled Love IV, set for release in March of next year. After previewing a record featuring Gucci Mane titled “Paid” and a solo slow jam fittingly titled “Foreplay” in a New York listening session, we are told to expect the tracks to be included on his 2013 project.

Now that the retail version of 1977 is in full swing, another bonus track from the album has been released by Terius himself. “Tender Tendencies” is exactly like that title suggests, a slow ballad that is ready to set the mood for that tender love, no Force MD’s.
Stay tuned for 1977 to drop in stores everywhere on December 18.
OS REWIND: The-Dream – AK47
