R.A. The Rugged Man – Learn Truth (feat. Talib Kweli)
Who can be mad at this collaboration? We’re unsure how these two haven’t jumped on a record together before now, but coming together for a record like this is something we can’t be mad at. “Learn Truth” serves as the latest to drop from R.A. The Rugged Man’s upcoming LP Legends Never Die and the two veteran emcees by way of New York on this record doesn’t disappoint.
Legends Never Die drops April 30th.

2 Pistols – All I Know (feat. French Montana & Talib Kweli)
2 Pistol is setting year his year off with a club banger, bringing along French Montana & Talib Kweli. The trio of artist is on a roll with more music as we wait for what they have under lock & key. As Pistol made his debut with French & Joell Ortiz originally on it, he decided to switch it up and give ½ of Black Star a chance to rip the beat. Either way the beats dope, the artist show up & deliver. Can’t argue that it’s going to be catchy from here on now.

Talib Kweli Announces New Date For “Prisoner of Conscious” & Talks Black Star
Rolling Stone recently caught up with Brooklyn emcee, Talib Kweli announced the long awaited set in stone date for the release of his sixth studio album “Prisoner of Conscious” coming April 23rd. He went on to say the album is to redefine the “socially conscious rapper” label he’s had pinned to his career since the 90s’. With the album being in the works for nearly four years, we can expect to see features from Kendrick Lamar, Nelly, Busta Rhymes and more to be announced when the album’s release date nears.
With the 15-year anniversary of “Mos Def & Talib Kweli are Black Star” nearing, Kweli briefly touched on a sophomore Black Star album which he and Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) are currently focused on their solo careers citing scheduling and timing differences that the two have been victim of all these years.
We’re hopeful to see a second Black Star album but for now we can look out for Kweli’s new album this March while Yasiin is still having a successful acting career currently.

In the last episode of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservation series, he travels to Brooklyn to visit Talib Kweli. After giving Queens, Harlem and the Boogie Down recognition in previous episodes of his weekly “Best of Tuesdays” Throwback at Noon on his 97, DJ Mister Cee gives Kings County a feature episode with non-other than Mos Def and Talib Kweli collectively known as Black Star. In this 60-minute set, the finisher plays some cuts from the duos “Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star” as well as your favorite stand-out tracks from each of the two Brooklynites solo efforts over the years.

Talib Kweli Interview With Google Play
Talib Kweli sits down with Google Play to speak on what fans expect from him, lyrically, and how that compares to what he wants to put on record. He doesn’t want any limitations on the new album, but he struggles with not being put in a box like the industry wants to put you in.
In between the interview, you can catch performance footage from SXSW.

Talib Kweli – Fly Away (feat. Jessica Care Moore)
With Talib Kweli’s new mixtape (and album) on the way, he took it to Tumblr to release a new track. To get an understanding and the thought behind the upcoming project, check out what Talib had to say about the Attack The Block below:
So I’m starting to get excited about this mix tape I did with the homie Z-Trip, Attack The Block. We will release it one week from today, but I want y’all to be as excited as I am so I am releasing another preview. There was a great response to to the music last week, so I hope y’all enjoy this one as well..Shout out to Jessica Care Moore for the incredible poem at the end and calling Attack The Block a mere mix tape is not doing it justice. These rappers these days put out anything and call it a mix tape. Not me. Z-Trip is a true master. This is a mix tape you can put on in any situation and let rock. Get ready for cutting, scratching, and thoughtfulness on a mix tape.
