Fabolous stopped by The Breakfast Club, surprisingly enough for his first time ever. He kicked it with the crew and talked about the run-in he had with Ray J a while back and why Fab had to fall back from his jokes on twitter, Loso’s Way 2 and all that he puts into his projects, Love & Hip Hop NY and his relationships with some of the cast members, and a few more topics. Watch the interview in full after the jump.

The Weekend Playlist (April 12, 2013)

The weekend is here, bitches! And you know what means? We’re going to be knee deep in some alcohol, awaiting good times (and hungover mornings). While we get ready for the Saturday and Sunday ratchetness, the soundtrack to our weekend will be crucial. This week was especially crazy, because we got big songs from Rap’s elite.

It never hurts to get a new song for Jay-Z, either. So that will continue in our rotation for days/weeks to come, as we set off today’s Weekend Playlist with that. We didn’t add too much R&B (and definitely no alternative) in this edition, so expect more rap than usual. Compton, Detroit, Brooklyn, North Carolina, and Los Angeles all represented.

Check out what our OnSMASH staff will be bumping this weekend, after the jump.

R&B songstress, Cassie hasn’t project since her debut self-titled album in 2006, but she returns today with her first ever mixtape entitled “#RockaByeBaby.” Themed from one of the greatest urban movies of all time, “New Jack City”; Cassie (much like Keisha) has her lips on the NINA ready to unload a full clip of musical fire onto her fans when you were least expecting it. Fabolous Talks “Ready” Music Video

Fabolous has lowkey been in OD grind mode as he’s gearing up for the release of his sixth studio album “Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power” coming this summer. The albums expected to have production from Hit-Boy, T-Minus, Pharrell Williams, Mike WiLL Made It, No I.D. and The Runners on his latest single Ready featuring Chris Brown.

MTV recently caught up with Loso over the weekend in Malibu as he was on scene with Breezy shooting the official music visuals. The visuals are expanding to the Dominican Republic as they felt they wanted to pick the best location to reflect D.R. He states the songs meaning “ready” can mean anything from being prepared for anything in life or even in the late night setting with your significant other. Fab closes out saying he’s ready, in a sense of returning back to the limelight after a few years off to bring us those signature Loso radio smash-hits but not shying away from the ladies, clubs or the streets.

Vado Confirms “We The Best” Rumors & Speaks On NYC Supergroup

Violence.And.Drugs.Only was the next artist to stop by ThisIs50 and partake in their widely famous interview series. In the video, the Harlemnite discusses taking his talents to South Beach as he’s currently in the process of making that “We The Best Music Group” situation official to resume his career that was hindered after his first major label deal.

Young Jack Thriller moved ahead to bring up the possibility of the rumored NYC supergroup forming along with himself, Lloyd Banks, Fabolous and Juelz Santana which he feels he doesn’t deserve to be in the group until he gets his weight up in the music game in the majors. The big 3 are ready to form the group but Vado is shying away from being critiqued with joining the group for now as he plans to focus on the solo side of things.

Fabolous Addresses “So NY” Line About Lil Wayne, Says All Is Good Between The Two

MTV.com news recently caught up with Brooklyn’s own Fabolous to get his take on Lil Wayne flat out saying “I don’t like New York.” Loso seemed to understand where Tunechi was coming from with his legal situation and not taking it serious saying,

‘I took what he was saying and tried to put some pride back into New York,’ Fab says of recording ‘So NY.’

The purpose of his So NY record was to motivate the city as he closed out saying the two recently ran into each other at Club LIV nightclub in South Beach as the two cleared the air to make sure there was no confusion with Tunechi taking the initiative to come over and say what up and kept it moving. Stay tuned for his upcoming sixth studio album “Loso’s Way 2: Rise to Power” coming soon.

Ordinary Joe is on a heavy campaign for his upcoming third studio album as we get a remix for his single She Don’t Put It Down.” Contrary to the original version that features Tunechi, this time around he’s replaced by Brooklyn’s own Loso and Chi-Town’s fast word spitta Twista as Tank is back on the chorus duties. We would like to think visuals for this track are overdue since it’s been in regular rotation here for over 3 months here as it’ll have a breath of fresh air now with this all-star studded remix. Be on the lookout for Joey’s upcoming album No Love Lost due out February 5th in stores every and iTunes.

Fabolous – Ready (feat. Chris Brown)

Producer: The Runners
Album: Loso’s Way
Label: Def Jam Records
iTunes:

ready

Looks like it’s all systems go for Fabolous’ upcoming Loso’s Way II album, dropping later this year. For the first official release from his 2013 effort, Fabolous links up with Chris Breezy for that radio-ready single, aimed straight for the ladies. This is definitely the softer side of Fab, one that we haven’t heard in a minute.

Especially not after giving The S.O.U.L. Tape II a solid spin.

Juelz Santana – God Will’n [Mixtape]

It’s been five years since we last heard a solo project from Juelz Santana, but he’s finally back with his brand new mixtape titled God Will’n. Due to other matters in his life, music had been put to rest for the meantime. However, Juelz believes he’s back to his best, which The Diplomats fans will certainly be hoping is the case. Features include the likes of Lloyd Banks, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, Future, Jeremih, Wale, Jadakiss and many more.

Ludacris – Representin (Remix) (feat. R. Kelly & Fabolous)

With Ludacris’ single being released more than three months ago, Mr. Bridges decides to give it an official remix with none other than R. Kelly and Fabolous. The beat stayed the same, but unfortunately, the beautiful Kelly Rowland has been replaced. Fab is one of the kings of R&B remixes, so he definitely brings that BK vibe to the radio single.

Stay tuned for Ludacris’ Ludaversal album to drop later this year.

After releasing the smash hit “Let Me Love You” and watching it climb up the top of the Hot 100 charts, Ne-Yo is returning with the new single off R.E.D., the Fabolous and Diddy-featured “Should Be You.” The track has a bit of that ’90s feel, but it’s surprisingly not a dance record.
