Times have been good to Joey Bada$$ and his Pro Era crew over the last 12 months, but it’s only thanks to the hard work and determination that has been put into their work. Due to Joey’s admiration for timeless producer DJ Premier, it was only right for the rebirth of the New York boom-bap sound to link with one of hip-hop’s finest beat-makers. The two give us the chance to listen to a preview of the track with exclusive in-studio footage of the creation. “Unorthodox” will be available to download on January 14th via Green Label Sound.
After appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s major label debut album “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” we were in need of some new music from the west coast legend MC Eiht as DJ Premier unleashes a new track from the Compton emcee’s upcoming project. Here’s a new track titled “The Reign” which is produced by Brenk Sinatra with Premier providing them signature scratches to make these West Coast sounds flourish. If you enjoyed this first leak (which you should), you can prepare for his upcoming 7-track EP “Keep It Hood” releasing on New Year’s Eve via Blue Stamp Music.
For part two of The Game’s #SundayService series pack for today, he releases “HVN4AGNGSTA.” In this track he gets a rare feature from Master P, as the two go in over a smooth production (where are the Primo scratches?). Hopefully we’ll get some fresh new visuals, as our excitement for “Jesus Piece” progressively increases.
Produced by DJ Premier.

For the next track from Lil Fame and Termanology we get to hear them “Play Dirty” with Styles P and Busta Rhymes on the DJ Premier produced street banger. This one sounds just as dirty as it should as they all get real street with the hardest bars and go in nonetheless on this. There definitely should be a video for this coming soon for it as well.
Fizzyology will be in stores and online on November 6th!
The legendary Rakim was on his second solo album, The Master, by the time “When I B On The Mic” dropped. The 1999, DJ Premier-produced single kept it so Hip-Hop with the signature Primo scratch-hook, showing Rah on the block with his crew ripping the microphone. Rakim has influenced all of your favorite rappers out now, so it’s only right we pay homage to the living legend. One time for the God MC!

DJ Premier and Pete Rock speak to Sean C about the first machines they used to make beats, why they fucked with MPC and interestingly enough, they speak on their upcoming project Pete Rock vs. Premier. We can’t wait for that!

Nas and DJ Premier reunite over the remix of Bumpy Knuckles “Turn Up The Mic” from his Kolexxxion album dropping March 26th. You better believe Nas sounds ill on the track. This is what real hip-hop is all about. via 2dope
OS REWIND: Nas Talks About Upcoming Album
We don’t live in New York so we couldn’t catch this live as it was taking place on Hot 97 earlier, but we’re glad DJ Premier’s guest mix on Mister Cee’s “Throwback At Noon” has surfaced. Chances are, we’re going to have this on repeat for the rest of the weekend.
Salute to Mikey Fresh for the link.
Guess who’s bizzack? Slick The Ruler. And if that’s not enough, he’s got the backing of a DJ Premier production for “Need Some Bad” for something off the new movie The Sitter (starring Jonah Hill who looks insanely skinny now). This is what hip-hop was raised on, pay attention young’ns.
It doesn’t seem like a tough requirement, right Biebs? Luckily for Primo, Justin Bieber is currently working on his next album, so he still has time to get a nod.
