The idea of BlackBerry’s popular BBM application making its way onto a number of different platforms has been a topic of conversation for quite some time. Today the company revealed that the messenger is now set to reach iOS and Android services for the first time this summer.
There’s no doubt that the software set the boundaries for some of today’s most popular free messaging platforms, but BlackBerry feel that now is the time to make their mark in making friends and family connected in an even easier way. The first version of BBM for alternative phones will focus on providing singular/multi-person chat options and voice note sharing, with the free release becoming available worldwide in the coming months.

If you logged on to Instagram this morning, you might have noticed something different, because they rolled out with a new feature called “Photos Of You.” What is it, exactly? It’s basically a way for you to tag people in your photos, like you would on Facebook. Now you don’t have to tag them in the caption, you can add them straight to the picture.
For now, the pointless feature is not visible to everyone but starting May 16, it will go live and show up on your account (we’re guessing online and through mobile). You can edit settings and find out more about “Photos Of You” at Instagram online.

This year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo will only see two companies taking the stage for the biggest day of the year for gamers, being Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo has decided to forego e3 2013 after recent financial goals the Wii-U has failed to make worldwide.
In their Q1 financial conference, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed the company is taking this year off to work on establishing a new presentation style for the event. This year in comparison to doing their regular Los Angeles large-scale presentations, this year we can expect to see private events for media and distributors to focus on software.
Speaking of which, The Wii-U hasn’t been too popular in their first party library with the hardcore audience of Sony and Microsoft sticking to current-gen consoles with the lack of originality for the Wii-U. Nintendo announced earlier in the year, we can expect to see new Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Zelda with Pikmin 3 penciled in for August 4th.
While this is a huge blow to the Nintendo loyalist, we can still expect those titles at this year’s along with a few surprises. Check after the jump for the full press release.

The app automatically defaults to an iTunes preview of the song, so don’t think you can play certain tracks in full. Twitter Music will pull information from RDIO & Spotify where applicable.
