OS Flashback: 2pac – Unconditional Love

Two weeks ago we paid homage to Tupac with I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto,” coincidentally not realizing his born day was only a few days later. After his passing, we got a “Greatest Hits” album which was his first and only to go certified diamond. Speaking of gem’s, one track from the album that never got enough appreciation in our opinion (peep the YouTube count) was the Johnny J-produced track “Unconditional Love.”

As one of his first posthumous singles (more on the way), we instantly fell in love with his dedication to friend M.C. Hammer. Enjoy the track today on this Father’s Day 2013 dedicating your day to him, or your mom’s for stepping up to fill the void.

Also, special thanks to all the fans that still visit this site while we’re still not “free” at the moment, that’s always unconditional love. Thank You!

Happy Birthday Tupac Shakur.

NBA TV Presents: The Doctor (Julius Erving)

Earlier this week, NBA TV premiered “The Doctor” featuring Julius “Dr. J” Erving. The nearly 90-minute documentary follows Erving’s childhood life growing up in Roosevelt, L.I. with narrator Chuck D of Public Enemy to becoming one of the most iconic sports figures of all-time. He brought us some of the biggest jaw-dropping highlights influencing your favorites in the NBA from Michael Jordan to Vince Carter, and LeBron James.

Those who witnessed his greatness up close and personal include Pat Riley, Bob Costas, and Doug Collins to name a few all speaking on their experiences watching him in the league. While there was always excitement on the court, Julius dealt with overwhelming off the court passings with his father when he was only 9 years old, to his brother dying at 19; and more recently his own son losing his life after a tragic car incident, also at 19.

“If you ever hear Michael Jordan talk, he always says he looked up to and aspired to be like Dr. J. So if there was no Dr. J, then Mike would have never had someone to look up to, and if there was no Mike, then there’s no guys like myself who looked up to Mike.”

Before Canelo Alvarez & Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s big showdown in September, one of the biggest fights we’re looking forward to that has potential to also be fight of the year is Paulie Malignaggi and Adrien Broner.

With Broner’s always flamboyant fast-talking and Malignaggi’s relentless to backdown from a fight, this has been one of the more “personal” fights in quite some time with even ex-girlfriends and past domestic relationships all exposed in the process. Their fight goes down next Saturday on June 22nd, as Adrien will be challenging Paulie for his WBA Welterweight title.

In the first clip from Showtime, we see Broner’s “It’s Time To Perform” clip, which he says he’s what boxing’s missing to put on a show for the fans every time he steps into the ring. His confidence and style mirrors Mayweather, as Broner sees himself making the hall-of-fame when his career is over citing next week when he steps up 147, he’ll showcase to the world his skills in the larger weight class.
