There were those who didn’t believe, but OnSMASH brought home the GOLD at this year’s #MaddenBattle against teams NahRight, Complex and HipHopDX.

While the likes of Lord Jamal, Eskay, Ace Hood, Double-O, Freeway, Maffew Ragazino, DyMe-A-DuZiN all put up a good fight, Mr. Powder himself, Troy Ave took the crown for our team in a shocking turn of events after Action Bronson and Asher Roth “bounced.” Troy ended up taking home a Custom Championship Ring by Gabriel Urist.

Video of the night’s festivities will be recapped by Levi Maestro, and the footage will be out soon. Thanks to everyone who participated, our competition, and everyone who helped make this possible. We will see you guys next year to re-claim our throne. Madden NFL 12 available now in-stores!

As we’ve been telling you over the course of the past couple weeks, OnSMASH will be representing for the #MaddenBattle, which is going down tonight against teams NahRight, Complex Mag and HipHopDX. Team OnSMASH is composed of DyMe-A-DuZiN, Action Bronson and Troy Ave, and if you are already familiar with them through the music, you should know how it will translate on the Madden field. The other teams better watch out, we will have no mercy on anyone’s soul.

This time of year can be quite depressing here in NYC. While we must say goodbye to rooftop bbqs, nutcrackers & beautiful women in sundresses there is something to look forward too. FOOTBALL! Unless you are still rolling 20-sided dice by candlelight, you know Madden NFL 12 dropped earlier this week. With my Giants off to a suspect preseason I decided to take my gambling talents virtual. Eskay from NahRight, Jake Paine from HipHopDX, Justin Monroe from Complex & myself will each captain a four man team competing against each other in Madden 12, tournament style.

#MaddenBattle goes down September 12th & the homie Levi Maestro will be on hand to document every grueling matchup. The champion will take home a blinged-out Gabe Urist-designed Superbowl style ring.
