There’s no question whether Kanye West has dominated the majority of conversation over the weekend already. After launching live projections of his new video for “New Slaves” on buildings across the world last night, the G.O.O.D. Music general has announced that his new album will be titled Yeezus. The name has been something that Kanye fans have referred him to throughout the course of his career, and it will finally be released on the previously sceptical date of June 18th.
Don’t forget to tune in to his appearance on Saturday Night Live this evening at 11pm EST.
The fact that Ludacris has been feeding the streets with solid material for the past month has been something hard to ignore. As previously announced, the rapper is planning on going ahead with the release of his anticipated #IDGAF mixtape, which contains 10 tracks with features from Young Jeezy, French Montana, Chris Brown, Swizz Beatz, Pusha T, Meek Mill and more, with production credits going to the likes of DJ Mustard, Bangladesh, ID Labs, Mike WiLL Made It and The Internz. Expect to hear the new project in its entirety next Friday on May 24th.

After much confusion surrounding the final release date, Travi$ Scott decides to provide us with the official tracklist for his exciting debut project. Many dates have passed in which the G.O.O.D. It’s fair to say that the past week has been a fairly interesting point of the year. Much of the new releases were overshadowed last night as Kanye West projected his video for “New Slaves” on the side random building across the globe. Fans and workers in the industry were rushing out into the streets in numbers in attempt to catch a glimpse, take a video or post snippets of the action onto Vine. Earlier in the week, we were also able to take a look at this year’s exciting Rock The Bells and OVO Fest lineups.
In terms of new singles that were released, we heard music from Cam’ron, PartyNextDoor, A$AP Ferg, Ryan Hemsworth, Rick Ross, Kelly Rowland, Chuck Inglish, The Weeknd and many more. Full projects were provided by the likes of Daft Punk, Eve, Troy Ave, JMSN and Lee Bannon.

Whilst currently touring throughout the UK, Slum Village decide to drop off a little treat for their fans. Ahead of their brand new studio album later this year, the Detroit collective release the official artwork for Evolution. With the momentum still in their favor from their previous mixtape earlier this year, expectations should be maintained highly as the weeks edge closer. The album will be released just under three years after Villa Manifesto on June 25th.
Over the past few months we’ve been provided with a number of videos from up and coming artist Julian Malone, which gives him the perfect opportunity to release the first official single from his new project. After taking on the production of Pusha T’s “Numbers On The Boards” last week, the rapper shows us his true self in the form of “Tokyo,” a smooth cut that allows Malone to express his rhymes in almost the finest setting. Expect to see the self-produced offering on his forthcoming Diff.Rnt mixtape this coming summer.
Reminiscent of the routine of releases that occurred with his previous project, Alexander Spit makes an appearance just a week after dropping his last track. The next instrumental from the multi-talented artist is titled “PCH,” and continues to prove his talent across several areas of the spectrum, showing the masses that his vocals aren’t always an essential part of his music. Who needs rhymes when the production up to this standard? Expect the single to appear on his forthcoming Mansions 2 mixtape on May 28th.

As we slowly approach the release of his next body of work titled Kismet, Mr. MFN eXquire returns with yet another teaser by releasing a long-awaited offering. We’re now given the chance to listen to “Illest Niggaz Breathin’” in its entirety, which sees the rapper continuing to portray his artistic sense in the form of more mysterious wordplay. eXquire hasn’t been one to follow the traditional trend of production over the years, and he rediscovers that sound alongside a guest feature from Goldie Glo. The song was originally intended to make the cut for his Power & Passion EP, but sample clearances stood in the way of its fruition.
It’s been a while since Noisey put together their last episode of The People vs. series, but we see the return of the discussion by sitting down with one of the collectives of the moment, New York’s own Flatbush Zombies. Like previous chapters of the Vice-generated brand have suggested, the trio spoke on particular replies on their video for “Thug Waffle,” with topics such as smoking, facial hair, grills, selling their souls to the devil, their type of sound and much more coming into the overall conversation.

Following his recent major move to Epic Records, Gilbere Forté liberates his anticipated third project as previously scheduled, signalling the final chapter to his trio of releases. The offering titled PRAY sets out to give fans a true insight into the rapper’s inspirations and down to earth opinions, based solely on many of life’s challenges and the day to day obstacles that must be overcome. The 10-track EP includes appearances from Active Child, De Carlo and Nylo, with the rest of the songs fully taken care of by Gilbere himself.

If you remember rightly, the last single we heard from Sunny & Gabe went by the name of “Fly” and was immaculately ready for the summer. Their brand new offering “Clouds” follows the traditional mood that they’ve made for themselves, which definitely gives us an indication of the cohesiveness within their new project. There’s something about the pair that sets them apart from plenty of other musicians, combining the perfect equation of joyful sounds with equally pleasant vocals. Expect their full-length Free Candy to see the light of day at a later point this year.

Baltimore’s young artist Rickie Jacobs has continued to build himself as an artist as of late, specifically focusing on the coverage that he has seen from a number of popular networks. Capitalizing on the work that has already been released this year, Jacobs connects with YOG$ once again for a rare cut titled “Millionaire,” giving him the chance to reflect on the happenings of his past and the trials of the future. His forthcoming Beautiful America EP will be released on June 15th.
We haven’t been short of new material from P-Money in recent times, with the New Zealand producer returning to connect with two guests for one of the smoothest jams that he has ever released. Based around some admittedly gorgeous vocals from Aaradhna, his latest release titled “Celebration Flow” gives us plenty of reason to look forward to warm months that are approaching, which includes a trademark verse from New York’s own, Talib Kweli. P-Money’s forthcoming album Gratitude is scheduled to be released worldwide on May 21st.

Taking a slightly different approach to what we heard on a previous single with Kenzie May titled “Float,” FTSE releases the next offering ahead of his upcoming EP. One thing that instantly stands out on “Tidal Wave” is the British accent that is portrayed, but that shouldn’t take away the sheer quality of the production at stake. With a worthy contribution from Saint Saviour, we can’t help but feel impressed with the final recording, filled with all of the energy that he is well-known for. Don’t forget to look out for out his self-titled project on July 1st via Lucky Number.
