718 Natives, Spike Lee and Rik Cordero have put together a six-episode documentary titled “The World Is Watching” which focuses on inner city teenage athletes competing in an NYC Basketball tournament called the Battle of the Boroughs. Maurice Harkless of the Orlando Magic is featured as one of the players as more rising stars are featured pushing their bodies to the limit to fulfill the coaches expectations, families and their boroughs.
This film makes us wonder who has the best ballers on them courts as we got the county of Kings, money-making Manhattan, the boogie down, the island of Staten and Q-Easy. Enjoy part one of this 6 part documentary as Rik Cordero handles the directorial duties while Spike is the narrator to give us insight of the importance of Basketball in the boroughs.
