On March 13th 2013, a group of previously unreleased songs performed by Jimi Hendrix will be released under the name of a posthumous album called People, Hell and Angels. The recordings are extracted from sessions taken place in the years after his Electric Ladyland album, during 1968 and 1969. Typical of the musician, Jimi takes a completely different experimental approach to his sound, examining the different uses of various instruments such as horns and percussion tools. We can only assume that these tracks were planned for the famous double album called First Rays of the New Rising Sun, which didn’t see the light of day. The artwork for the project is basic but pretty much sums up his dominating force and the legendary figure he has grown to become, even over 40 years after his last physical presence.--
