Billboard caught up with J. Cole last night on the red carpet at the American Music Awards where they asked him his take on his new record killing the streets, “Miss America.” J. Cole speaks on the risk of his single wanting to change the culture a little bit stating he would rather fail with this track following his heart versus falling into the generic mold of what’s out right now.
Cole compares the record to his first single “Who Dat,” stating he came out with a total different sound where in 2010 Young Money controlled every blog, radio and music channel spin at the time. Cole touches on shooting a short film for presumably some music from his album as he’ll be able to have more creative control on his upcoming album “Born Sinner.”
