With the success of fellow ATLiens Xscape and Da Brat receiving much recognition in the mid-90s, Jermaine Dupri embarked on a new project with the Ghost Town DJ’s to release the timeless party record “My Boo.” With R&B vocals seen on a Miami-bass influenced high-tempo electronic beat, this was the first time we had ever heard a type of party record such as this one.
The song went on to receive much success in the Billboard even peaking 31 on the Hot 100 charts and 18 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Word, we still can never forget the memories of the ladies back in the day using these lyrics to “courtship” the fellas.
