Hardy, Adam Jones, and Chris Davis.
In the bottom of the 5th, Mark Teixeira would single to right and would proceed with a stolen base. With Raul Ibanez at bat, he would single to center with Teixeira scoring to get the Yankees first points of the game. Sabathia would follow suit in the next inning with a 1-2-3 inning. Heading to the bottom of the 6th, Yankees captain Derek Jeter would get walked with Ichiro Suzuki proceeding with a double to deep right with Jeter scoring as the game was now 2-0.
With CC pitching one more 1-2-3 inning in the top of the 7th, Curtis Granderson would homer to right to give him a little breathing room to close out the game. Lew Ford would single to left brining in Wieters giving Bmore their first points of the game 1-3. Robert Andino would hit a infield single to Sabathia loading the bases.
Giradi decided to get the bullpen ready but still stuck with CC.
