Bobbito Garcia recently stopped by the Angie Martinez show on Hot 97 to discuss his upcoming movie “Doin’ It In The Park.” Before discussing the movie, Angie recalls a time earlier in her career being a fan of Bobbito and calling into his radio station at 3 in the morning while still doing hosting duties which was humbling for him to say the least.
Garcia went on to discuss the film saying along with co-director, Kevin Couliau, the two visited 180 courts throughout every borough in the Mecca to show the rest of the world the playground legends as well as various NBA stars and celebrities that grew up in that “pick-up game” lifestyle.
The film’s message is that unlike playing college basketball for 4 years then playing in the pros for a decade; pick-up basketball is a lifetime sport which should be cherished by any ball player that just loves playing the game.
